An HRV system normally operates quietly. Do you suddenly hear a humming, buzzing or ticking noise? This can point to a problem or overdue maintenance.
An unusual noise isn't necessarily serious, but it's wise to have it checked if it continues.
What can you check?
First check the following points:
- Check whether the filters need replacing.
- Listen to work out where the noise is coming from.
- Check whether the unit otherwise functions normally.
- Check whether a fault is visible.
Possible causes
The noise can be caused by, among other things:
- Dirty filters.
- Wear of parts.
- A technical problem.
- Overdue maintenance.
