Many blockages occur because materials end up in the drain that aren't meant to go there.
By being mindful of what goes down your drain, you prevent many problems.
What can go down the drain?
In general, drains are meant for:
- Water.
- Normal amounts of soap residue.
- Toilet paper (via the toilet).
What shouldn't go down the drain?
Don't throw the following down the drain:
- Fat and oil.
- Food scraps.
