An underfloor heating system normally operates almost silently. Do you still hear a ticking, bubbling or humming noise? This can have several causes.
An unusual noise doesn't always mean there's a fault, but it is wise to have it checked if the noise continues.
What can you check?
First check the following points:
- Check whether the heating is functioning normally.
- Listen to check whether the noise comes from the manifold or from the pipes.
- Check whether the water pressure of the installation is sufficient.
- Note whether the noise is constant or only occurs while heating up.
Possible causes
Noises can be caused by, among other things:
- Air in the installation.
- Temperature differences while heating up.
- A part of the manifold.
- Wear or a technical problem.
When should you contact us?
Contact Bouma when:
- The noise persists.
- The underfloor heating heats less well.
- You're unsure about the cause.
- The unit also shows a fault.
