A boiler is expected to make some noise during normal use. But do you hear a ticking, humming, whistling or bubbling noise you haven't heard before? Then this can point to a fault or a technical problem.
Noises aren't always necessarily serious, but it's wise not to ignore them.
What can you check?
First check the following points:
- Check whether the water pressure is sufficient.
- Listen to check whether the noise comes from the boiler or from the pipes.
- Check whether an error code appears on the display.
- Check whether the heating otherwise functions normally.
Does the noise continue or does it get worse? Then we recommend having the boiler checked.
Possible causes
An unusual noise can be caused by, among other things:
- Air in the heating system.
- Low water pressure.
- Wear of parts.
- Contamination in the unit.
Only an inspection can determine the exact cause.
When should you contact us?
Contact Bouma when:
- The noise appeared suddenly.
- The noise keeps getting louder.
- The boiler also shows a fault.
- The heating or hot water no longer works properly.
Describe, if possible, what kind of noise you hear. This helps us assess your request faster.
